It is that time when we start thinking about what we want to change in the New Year and making resolutions. For many people that’s about what they are going to stop or give up. It’s not easy to get motivated by thinking about depriving yourself. So how about spending some time today thinking about what you want to attract into your life in 2014? What do you want more of?
You may have heard about the Law of Attraction which was the basis for the film and book The Secret. The Law of Attraction put simply is that you attract into your life whatever you think about. Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest.
Being able to visualise an outcome you want can stimulate and mobilize the activity of the nervous system to achieve that outcome. People in all walks of life use visualisation in order to achieve their goals including improving sports performance, problem solving, healing and business success. Visualising something that you want to achieve can be transformational.
To get started, sit of lay down somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed. Focus in on your breathing and just notice the rhythm and sensation of your breath. Now think about what gives you joy, what you love. Visualise your life with more of what you love in it. What would you be seeing, hearing and feeling? How would you be behaving? What would you be thinking? Now that you have that image really clear in your mind, go back to it on a regular basis to reinforce it.
