Why Cognitive Hypnotherapy? Because it is an evidence-based, client-centred approach, not a ‘one-size fits all’. If you are struggling with a problem you want to feel confident that the therapy is specific to you.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses the light states of trance that we all experience every day. Your therapy will be tailored to meet your specific needs. We will be working together to achieve the changes you want to make, but you have control and responsibility for your progress – I’m there to support you and assist you to discover your own resources.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy developed by gaining insights from a range of current psychological and therapeutic disciplines including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Positive Psychology and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR). This means that as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I have a wide range of tools and techniques to help you make transformational changes.
We all go in and out of trance every day. That means that being hypnotized and in trance does not mean that you are unconscious or out of control. There have probably been times when you have been driving along a familiar route and you arrived at your destination without remembering the journey. That’s because you have been in a light form of trance.
During therapy you may have your eyes closed but you will not be asleep and you will still be able to hear as normal and move as normal. At the end of the hypnotherapy session you will either open your eyes naturally or when prompted by me. You will generally experience a relaxing state that’s a bit like day dreaming
